ODB2 - how to..
I have a few questions regarding the ODB2 on my Ex.
I have available a cable, but no software.
What is reccomended to use in order to:
-read out diagnostics
-change values (ie. setting idle to something more sensible than 1000rpm)
There are tuners that allow you to change performance parameters (engine tune, tire suize etc.) and give you the ability to read & clear trouble codes.
I've also seen software...Autotap... AutoTap - OBDII Diagnostic Scanner ...that lets you read your engine's sensors in real-time via the cable you have and a laptop.
Does your truck idle at 1000 when running propane? maybe it needs a high idle? What changes were made to the engine computer to allow it to run propane?
It always start on petrol, and switch to propane when the engine is around +35 C, so the high idle on petrol could be related to cold start.
I have a friend with a 2001 Ex, same engine and LPG system.
His car idles around 650.
The propane system have 2 brains, 1 for each side of the engine.
I don't know if the main controller is working as a master to these 2 units, or if they live a life of their own.
I've sent a request to the workshop who installed the LPG system.
