Thorley Headers - $960 Shipped
Dynatech 3" Powercat - $150
Flowmaster Force 2 Cat-back (#17229) w/ FM70 $203 Shipped
FM70 Mod $0
Magnaflow 4" x 12" tip $45

Of course none of these prices include installation and etc. I have a K&N FIPK on my truck also with the zoodad mod. Also running an SCT Xcal 2 w a custom tune and a FT Valve body for the tranny. All my mods cost about as much as the Banks kit alone. I bought stuff as I went instead of sinking the big bucks into the Banks system all at once. IMO you get more by putting together aftermarket parts rather than just buying a kit. Of course buying a pre engineered kit is easier.

Just ordered an '08 6.8 F250 Lariat yesterday. They had a 2005 that they let me drive so I could get an idea of what the V10 was all about. It was so muffled it was almost a let down. Nice to hear how you have yours set up. I might explore a new exhaust to get some rumble out of it. Nothing too loud, but at least some noise when WFO.

Thanks for posting the audio file.

From the factory they are super quiet. It seems like the 05' up exhausts have more pop to them than the 99'-04' models. Overal the 05'up exhaust is much better than previous years, but regardless the huge stock mufflers are restrictive.

I like the sound! Is there any drone in the cab? Any noticable gain seat of the pants wise?

There is zero drone at any rpm and interior sound was only increased slightly with the mod. I noticed the mid to top end power increaased some, especially on the highway. I think this was due to replacing the section of pipe with the bad bends to the mandrel bent piping. The old pipe was collapsed pretty good and was a restriction point. I highly doubt you'll notice any increase in performance with the muffler mod alone.

I have the FM70 and bigger Y Pipe and the rest stock. Mine sounds like crap compared to yours. The headers must be the trick.

I did all the work myself. My local muffler shop is somewhat inexpensive, but does crude work with bad bends.

I got a 2000 and it was pretty loud stock. Now I got a Flowmaster 3inch 40 series. Everybody knows when I'am coming down the street or coming up a dune. That V-10 has a very different sound. I was thinking of maybe the 2.5inch dual out let 40 or the Flowmaster Super 44, Flowmaster Super 40, the race muffler 30 series!

I dont want my truck to look or sound like all the rest.
