Tuners types

My new '06 is awful peppy compared to my recent 05 and I was wondering if a tuner may exist.

Can a tuner be loaded in to Memory which doesnt require an existing box or controller to be connected to the truck?

I better get back to the dealer or I'll have another %#itfit with warranty work....that is, unless they are cool with it.

Thanks

Tuners don't need to be connected to the truck for the tune is be in place. They erases the stock program from the EEPROM (electronically erasable programmable read only memory) and replace it with a high performance tune.

Understood, but if you leave the tune in the truck then the unit that the tune was stored on cannot be used on other vehicals correct?

Correct for the most part. Some specialized tuners don't vin lock, such as sniper's. I got two vins with purchase. Professional Dyno tuners have unlimited or can buy more vin spots for their software.

However, the typical Superchips, Edge, Diablo, ect do vin lock.
