Ron,

Did you finish your swap?
Got any pics of that shiny new 351?

I finished mine and added some pics to my gallery. I will have some full truck pic when the weather gets good.

Hey Mark,
Yep, got her done Sunday, drove her to the muffler shop on Monday for the dual cats/dual flowmasters...and man do I love this motor. By the time I got that done and got her back home and washed (the other half of the garage I was using for 4 weeks had a 400HP VW sittin in it being sanded for painting so my baby had dust everywhere)it was too dark to take pics. And it rained today. I do plan to get pics up shortly though (wish I had thought to do some in progress like you did). Your's looks great bud, specially love those chrome valve covers. Nice touch!! The next thing on the agenda for me is cutting out some bed rust and painting this beast!! But I gotta drive her for a while first.......
Gawd, dontcha love the sound of a V-8?
Hehe

Ron,

The V8 sound is great. One thing I did notice, is the gas mileage. It went up? I get better gas mileage with the 351 than I ever did with the six. I drive 44 miles round trip each day. All highway 65-70 mph. With the six, I would use a 1/4 tank each day. With the V8, I use 1/4 tank every two days or so. I didn't think gas mileage would go up, and I definately didn't think it would go up that much. The six was tuned up and ran good. The V8 has headers, one less CAT, electric fan and cam/rockers. But I wouldn't think it would make that much of a difference. Well, I am not complaining. I will just enjoy the power and money saving.

I'm on my second tank and didn't keep mileage on the first one so I can't say yet. But I filled it up after leaving the muffler shop on Monday, drove it around that evening, had to go back to my buddy's garage so the wife could drive the other car home, drove it to work and back Tues, Weds, and Thursday (about 32 miles round trip) then cause I have the famous Ford "all over the place" gas guage, I filled it up. 10 gallons was all I could squeeze in.....rough estimation tells me I got over 18mpg that first tank!!! This from a 4x4 that on it's best day got 15 on the highway. Will let you know when I have to fill it up again.
