egr bypass question???
I am looking to put a set of shorties on my 88 f350 w/460 efi and I am not positive what to do with the egr valve and the tube. Do I leave the egr tube hanging or do I weld a bung in the new headers. Or does someone make a bypass of some sort. Thanks for any help.

You could weld a fitting on the header and run the egr normally, or disable it. To do this you need to remove and plug the vacuum lines and put a blockoff plate behind the valve, but leave the valve attached with the electrical connection plugged in. You'll get better milage and more power with the EGR functional, which should be some incentive with a big block and fuel prices.
