Never been to a sled pull and I don't know anything about them.

Question:
Is there someone sitting in that rear cab of the sled and if so....what does he/she do in there???

the sled drives itself back, so they drive that. also the meaurement of how far you went, how fast and the emergency kill/stop controls are in there.

the front of the sleds have tires on them... the person in the back of the sled lowers the tire to the ground and drives it backwards and prepares it for the next rn everytime...
