'65 Mustang question

:7 I know it's not a truck question but here goes. I bought a 65 289/auto stang last year and was wanting to know how to find out the orignal mileage if possible. It was last tagged in '92 and sat in a barn in tn. The odometer shows 15,000 miles. It needs some work done to it but runs and drives perfect, no rust through at all on the body and it has motorcraft plugs in it. The old man i bought it off of said he didn't know how many miles was on it because he bought it and didn't drive it much at all. He was sort of a ford collector at the time and had to many at the time, i don't really care if it 115,000 but the body is in such good shape i can't see how it managed to keep from rusting down. Thanks for any help.

Hey Daniel,
If it were me, I would go to my local DMV and see if they could look up the VIN and see what the mileages were listed when titled. Possibly your insurance company may be able to help you with this as well. It's worth a shot.
