possibly some dirty fuel from external tank. is it possible to bypass OEM filter? i've installed new inline filter and still have rough idle. how hard is it to replace injectors/solenoids ??? ford will dignose truck wednesday but if i can change injectors etc. it will be cheaper, am on a tight budget.
I had a rough idle caused by a bad ICP. Free to check, just unplug your ICP and see if it smooths out. The truck will default to a "canned" fueling table and will run and drive pretty normally. The ICP is above the front end of the drives side valve cover, immediatly adjacent to the fule bowl. If it turns out to be the ICP then look for a new one on e-bay for about $50.
Hopefully you won't have tochange your sticks, but I just did mine and found that they were half of them were really gunked up on the fuel side. That's with a HUGE NAPA 3384 before the main filter. I still have a goofy idle though .....
P.S.- don't let the stealership gouge you- they wanted to charge me $4500 to do injectors, VC gaskets, UVC harness, glow plugs...... I did my injectors for $1300.
