need some help...
I've got a 302, EFI in an '89 XLT Lariat.
I've had it for about 4 months now and I've run into a problem here lately.
Here are some of the recent additions and updates before I get into my problem:
Ford mustang headers
New plugs
New plug wires
New rotor cap
Engine and Transmission were both redone by ford less than 15,000 miles ago.
New o2 sensor
Now for the problem.
When ever I step down on it it will start to spit and sputter like it's almost out of fuel. Whenever I put it in park or neutral it stays revved up like 2,000-3,000 rpms. When I let off the gas it starts to jump and kick like it's trying to shift down? When I am going down hill it does the same thing. So pretty much whenever I am stepping down on it, the truck runs decent, but when I let off the gas it starts jumping and surging. I tried to reset the computer yesterday to see if that helped but I have no clue if I did it right because today it started jumping again. I was told that it may possibly be my idle control valve but I have no idea how to get to it or where it even is to check it.
Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated...thanks.
