>Has anyone seen this issue before? I tried to find the sensor on the tranny for the speedometer and could not find it, I cleaned the main connector on the tranny and this did not help. It’s annoying as hell. I can’t find any info in any of my books on the speedometer and what the circuit is, any help would be greatly appreciated.<O

There is an exciter gear in with the ring and pinion that triggers this sensor and then the signal travels up to your PSOM (programmable something or other) in your dash cluster and goes through a conversion factor to display the correct speed. You can change the conversion factor up to 6 times for reasons like different tire sizes etc.
try holding down your odom reset (or select button I can't remember which) button and then turning on your key to the run position (DO not start). Your speedo will do a full sweep and then some info will be displayed in the odometer window. like E for Engligh and 6 for the number of times you can still change the conversion factor. pushing the reset or the selct button again gives you the actual conversion number.
I too have had a speedo anomoly, but it is more of a 5 mph wandereing around 80-85 and I have just been living with it.
hope this helps.
