door lock actuator (owie)

so i tackled the infamous door locks. learned one very valuable lesson, again...lol. keep your fingers out of they way of a drill when drilling something in your hand. its ok though, it stopped when it hit the bone. $#%@. lol
cheers.

heres a couple pics

the door lock actuator, drill out the rivets (see above) and i drilled out the plastic lock tabs, just drilled the head off not all the way through.

carefully split the case, by now the finger is throbbing so much that a tear came to my eye. ok many tears.

the offending thermistor fuse (thingy) half pulled out.

wrapped it in tinfoil, the picture is shaky, almost like my hand was trembling for some unknown reason.lol

drilled (cautiously) the plastic tabs and screwed it all back together.
works fine. now ill have to do the other three as or before they fail. i just have to heal ...lol

good luck and be safe. i have a few other pics if anyone would like them but these really are all that you need to see whats involved. its not that bad of a job. its all small stuff. my hats off to the guy who figured it out.
cheers.

Reps to you for the post. Negative reps for drilling your hand. You need some of those shark diving gloves.
