Check air filter--could be rotten and you don't want to suck filter material into the motor.
Pull plug and check for free rotation, and spark!
Check carb to cylinder boot, they like to crack.
Check carb to aircleaner--it winds around the spring and likes to crack.
Carbs are simple and it may pay to pull it off and take it apart, blow it out with carb cleaner.
This does not use a "choke" but rather an enrichening circuit, which is a **** that pulls up or is on a lever.
Look for leaks, inspect frame esp. on rear suspension for cracks. Inspect engine mounts. Inspect steering head for snugness. Inspect all fasteners, but don't go twisting away, many go into aluminum and you don't want to snap things off....
Check spokes, wheels for true. Tires & rim locks also. (you need rim locks on this bike, it will spin the wheel inside the tire at 12 psi.) After talking to a guy who has run EVERY Baja 1000 race at the time I had this bike, I decided the running on marbles feel of 22 psi in your tires was worth it, vs. the extra traction, better in the sand of 12-15...why? at 12-15, you get more flats. And flats suck big time...
This thing has a lighting coil too, but you can wait to fool with that.
Drain and refill the forks, inspect, clean and lube the brakes, replace the cables, file the clutch basket, put on Bark Busters or other fine brand, why because you're going to hit a tree? Heck no, so you don't break your clutch and brake levers in a fall....

Flush it out, gas it up, get on it, head out, and hold the throttle till it sticks, then move on to the next one.
