62 F250 4x4 Rareity?

How rare is a 62 F250 4x4? And what are they worth? How about this particular one:

62 F250

Is that a good deal at $3500?

Thanks

Slick 4x4s were not produced in great numbers, probably fewer than 2,000 F250 4x4s in 1962. Keep in mind trucks back then were used for work and not to take the kids to soccer practice. So to find a 46 year old 4x4 that is solid and runs good is, in a sense, rare. That truck looks nice, but you'd have to call the seller to get more info. Parts are not easy to come by. Is that $3500 Canadian dollars?

If its a correct and original drivetrain 4X4...I would say go for it...the door tag should be like an F26 or so...NOT an F25 though...It appears to have original wheels to, which to me being a purist is a bonus...if the cassette is in the dash, to me thats a minus, however if the dash either has the original am radio or is uncut at all, thats a plus.
production...very low numbers...my source shows the following for 62 production..Flareside p/u..7247..
Styleside p/u..6002...theres no 4X4 breakdown from that so my guess is it is indeed a rare pup...I believe this to be a styleside if my memory on Ford box terminology 101 goes...

If the truck has good floors and cab mounts and the frame is solid...I would go for it...assuming its not a bondo bucket...otherwise, nit pick it and get the price down.

But it looks darn good in the pic...if you can get more, post here as my guess is many wouldnt mind drooling a bit :-)

Dang...why couldnt I have a rich uncle ....that looks really good to me...cut dash and all...check the floorboard and the sides of the bed for dents as those arent double walled beds. Also look up front for bad rustout and if it has a tailgate thats good...

I wouldnt snooze on that truck at all...
