You need a thread tapping set, any parts store has them, but I'd recommend NAPA's kit, because I've used it and know it works. IT looks like a bolt, and you just screw it in there, and it cuts/restores the threads. I'd recommend frequent chasing with a magnetic metal scrap picker-upper, so you don't drop metal shreds in the combustion chamber.

One more bit of advice. Make sure the piston is at the top so you can vacum the shavings then follow that by a magnetic tool. Also you can coat the tap with grease to prevent most of the shavings from going into the cylinder to begin with. The open non threaded part of the tap that is.
