Hello, first time posting here. Ive got a 2000 Excursion limo, V10, just bought it about a month ago. I noticed the other day it was running a tid bit rough, and today I was detailing it and had it running to keep the back part warm, and it got rough for about 3 seconds and died. Now the engine turns but wont fire. 119 K miles on it also. Im not getting any noise from the fuel pump, I'm thinking it may be that. I swapped FP relay and checked fuse, both are fine. Anybody got any ideas, and if it is fuel pump, anything extraordinarily hard to deal with on this unit in particular? Thanks, and looks like I need to start visiting here more!
hey , try smacking the fuel tank with the key on , sometimes it will get the fuel pump running, it will still need replaced but be running ,besides it feels good to hit a dead truck with a big rubber hammer bseg barry
My IAC was bad and it would start run rough for 3 sec and then stall. But it would always start up. I have never heard of a IAC not allowin a eng to start up period.
Tell us more about this. What IS a "Excursion limo", anyway. How were they built ? How did they extend the frame? What's the inside like ? Can you post a bunch of pictures ? Sounds interesting.
As a side note, I understand ONE reason why SOME Excursions were stolen was to make em into limos and ship em to the middle east. ? ? ? ?
I would depress the schradder valve on the fuel rail, see if any fuel comes out. Have a rag in your hand as you may get a couple teaspoons. If you get some fuel, go turn the key on and off for a few seconds at a time, and try teh schradder valve again, you should get some fuel spraying out under pressure, couple teaspoons again. If you dont get any fuel you'll know your pumps deffinatly not moving fuel and thats your problem. You can diagnose from there. My next step would be to test for power at the fuel pump, if your getting power to the pump the pump is dead. If your not getting power to the pump, you have an electrical issue. If you checked the fuel pump relay and your sure that works I'm not sure where to go next on these trucks. DOes your security light flashing or on while you crank maybe?
I heard there is a company that will give you $50,000 for one if it is factory black, they are shipping them to the middle east, having them converted, and shipping them back.

And what's the name of said company? I'd gladly let them have mine.
