Im tossing the idea to 4 link the axle since the hard work is done(the axle anyways).
I know that I have seen a 4 link set up for rangers that dont required you to modify the rear frame long sills, and you could still fit like 31" slicks between the bed side and the frame rails.
the first ?? is how good are you at fabricating?? if your ok then get a lot better. then search the web for drag car setups. this is no easy task and many many many things are taken into consideration for a 4 link. im by no means saying dont do it just do a lot of research before youi cut the first piece.
was this a back half kit?? if so its basically a cut and weld in kit pretty straight forward and some even come with directions. if thats the case its pretty easy, if not then just make sure you read up on how to do a 4 link and set it up.
Check the companies that sell drop components for the Rangers. Just do a Google search for Ranger 4-link. As an example, TruckShop.com sells a parrell 4-link for the '82-'04 Ranger that sells for $549.
That kit from truckstop.com is a bolt on kit that requires you to have the stock axle in yoru truck... I will not be using the stock axle. I will be using a 9".
