oil leak

Oil appears to be blowing up around dipstick. PCV valve seems to be fine. Engine does not appear to be burning any oil. Could it be the rings. To much blowby. 1981 302, 60 000kms. 2 barrel

Did you check the crank filter on the other valve cover? There should be a hose running from the valve cover to the air cleaner housing. Inside the air cleaner housing is a filter just for the crank case. Check to see if it is clogged or extremely dirty. They are very inexpensive and run less then $5.00. This gives you a place to start at.

oil leak

I also have the problem of an oil leak. Similar problem, my oil is leaking from somewhere and then finally dripping off at the lowest part of my crankcase. Could it be my rear seal? Maybe any other seal? Please advise as soon as possible.

Thanks:-X23

gfdavis spray your engine off with a degreaser or oven cleaner(easy off). Drive the car for a little stop and look under it. Also you can purchase a dye to add to the oil. Use a black light to see where it originated from. Pepboys should carry it.
