How much are those factory ones? I have always assumed that they would be priced through the roof, and the MagHytecs are such a nice piece, so I have used them almost exclusively. I am sure I could move some of the factory ones if the pricing is decent.
42 bucks! which is not bad at all!!! FTE/partsguy sorry about the confusion, but you have all my future business! I will recommend you to everyone!
I'm looking for a front and rear cover for my 2000 F350. Do the 2008 aluminum covers fit on a 2000?
If so what are the part numbers for the front and rear? I'm ready to order a set and would like to send my money to a FTE Sponsor rather than someone else.
Heres where I got the 08' Aluminum diff cover for my 04', it comes with longer bolts too. Cost was $76 shipped. They are an FTE sponsor. The cover fits 12-bolt sterling 10.25 and 10.5 diffs. DieselManor - Ford Sterling Differential cover
You'll have to go aftermarket for the front cover if you want an aluminum one. Your 2000 SD should have a Dana 50 up front. I just got the aluminum cover for the rear because thats where all the heats generated. Most of the time the front diff is along for the ride unless your hubs are locked.
One thing to note, a D50 cover will be hard to find, but find one for a D60 and it will bolt in place (the oppisite is NOT true you can't bolt a d50 cover onto a 60 because it will hit the ring gear but the bolt patterns, and gaskets are the same)
Thanks guys. I wanted aluminum front and rear covers simply to eliminate the rust factor. I don't crawl under my truck to often. Heck I can't crawl around at all because of some military related back injuries, but the last thing I want to worry about is my diffs puking out their fluids through a small rust hole.
here you go, I'm double checking this, this morning before I order the part number monster baby gave me. I'll post the bolt part numbers too. I need to get some morning stuff done and i'll get back to this.
OK, I have fully evaluated this, using my dealers new truck sitting out back here.
for the the alumium rear cover and bolts use these part numbers, the front diff cover was stamped steel so if someone knows of a truck that has a alumium one in front let me know and i'll look it up for that truck.
