Hey all, I am working on my brothers 1997 Expedition. I scaned it and got a #7 misfire code P0307 and of couse the O2 sensor codes. Replaced the coil pack, and cleared the computer. Drive fine for a about a mile and ran like crap, and the MIL came on with the same misfire code. I am suspecting the fuel injector, but not sure what the OHMs are suppost to be, and my brother doesnt have a lot of money to put into this. Anyone else had this problem and if so was the fuel injector the problem. This is the 3rd coil pack on this truck in a year. 2 of them were #4. This is the first time on the #7. 5.4L with 140k
Hi All, I am having the same problem except mine is a 2002 4.6 and the number 5 cylinder is my problem, I have place 3 new coil packs in the last month only to have the same problem come back, could this be a wiring problem? I have used after market coil and the last was a ford coil. It has 80,000 miles on it. I am going crazy trying to figure this out. Thanks for any help that I can get.
I am having the same problem started with 7 and 8 now 6 is off and i have a ticking noise it is in the shop right now. should have it back tomorrow. Seems my problem might be a bit deeper then you guys... But i will keep you posted..
Hey again all, well I got the missfire fixed on the 97 5.4L Mine was a brain FART! I was in Chevy mode for another truck I am working on. I changed the #8 COP instead of the #7. Once I replaced the correct COP the problem is gone till the next on goes out. I got mine from NAPA and so far the other one (#4) is still working fine. Replaced that one over 6 months ago. Hope you all get yours fixed soon.
