Gear box
I need help figuring out how to identify my gear box. also what would be the reason for the gear box to get harder as I drive is there a way for me to synchronize it or something?

Ford-Saginaw model # SMK-C.
Fits: From 3/83 thru 1989 on E100/350's & F150/350's.
You can buy the parts to rebuild it from NAPA.
These manual boxes weren't designed for lifted trucks with/without fat tires, and wear out quickly.
Regardless, it's prolly worn out by now anyway, the truck is 20 years old.
Make sure to use the correct fluid in the gearbox, follow what the owners manual recommends.

Ppl sometimes don't give enough info, then one has to play a guessing game to figure out what the heck they're talking about.
There's what, 4 or 5 different manual trannies in these trucks?
OP: Get the TRANS code from the Warranty Plate or Certification Label to ID what it is.
Post it here.
The TRANS code is not in the VIN.
