Fixed my fog lights. Turns out one of the connectors inside the fog light housings came undone. I only connected it part way for bench testing and never fully connected it. All is good again.
And I just lined up a deal for a freshly rebuilt D44 third member with new 4.10's AND a 8.8" with 3.55's for $125. Guy rebuilt the front third member, then decided to swap in a Dana 60 and Sterling 10.25 combo. Gonna rebuild the 8.8 and put 4.10's in it. Looks like I might have to make a build thread after all...
Ordered 4 gallons of FleetCharge, now I need to get a temperature gauge since the stock one isn't very helpful. Does anyone know offhand what the size of the top radiator hose is? Useless though it may be, I don't want to disconnect anything relating to the stock gauge, so I want to use an adapter like this, I just don't know what size to get.
I also have some Hella 550's coming in the mail. Evan, I hope you get a commission, because those pics you uploaded are what convinced me to spring for them.
You just jb welded the outside of the pan right? Why not lift the motor pull the pump and oil pan.. Jb weld isn't gonna fix the leak
Yes, JB Welded (cold weld version) the oil pan. I don't have the means nor the time to dick around with trying to pull a thousand lb motor (6.9 IDI) right now and I needed the truck asap. Drained the pan, chipped the previous owners crappy patch job off, filed and sanded everything while continually cleaning it down with brake cleaner. Applied the JB Weld evenly and let it cure for about 16 hours. Been running around all day and not a single drop anywhere I parked. I dare say it fixed the leak juuuuust fine.
Now that the truck is finally running again I can go get my new tires put on and start my other mods.
It wasn't today, but last night I got my gooseneck ball to flip up after 4 attempts over the course of 3 days. Now I remember why my family always used b&w turnover *****. This knockoff turnover was a PITA
On the 4th or 5th attempt I thought of this......

I gotta read before I say something next time lol.. A 6.9 idi is a whole different story about the oil pan.. Oil pan is much larger too.. Jb weld is good on those pans.. If it was a 5.0/5.8 I would say pull motor and change the pan and pump

Oh dude trust me, if it was a small block I'd have rocked that thing out over the last weekend lol.
I'm pretty happy with how the jbweld turned out. I stuck a pile of time into the prep and cleaning and it worked great! I'm saving up to get it replaced though. I'd much rather have a complete pan
It's hot outside! Changing out the broken 1/2 ton springs in my '94 F150 for some 3/4 ton springs from '92 F250. Could not find correct bushings for the shackle so went with the shackle kit, it included both rear bushings and the correct bolts and nuts. had to remove rear fuel tank which was leaking gasoline, that will get soldered up before tonight. Front tank is also leaking so will have to fix that as well.
Today I gave it a good washing
It's been forever since I've been on here so hes a little updates,
got a 8an foot fisher plow that I've been restoring, "new" rear bumper, reversed lights for plowing, sold my headache rack, took off the running boards, and got a nice exhaust slapped on!
Today I greased all the zerks in the front end, and got most of my exhust put on. The muffers and cats are hung I just need to get a friend to weld up permanent hangers and to weld the seams. Sounds great!, hangs a little low though... Oh well!
Showed my daughter how to take apart the hub to replace the rotors and pads on the first side, and had her do the other side. Also, replaced the calipers. Then she installed the new breather filter and rear slider latch.
