Yeah I hate to lose that turbo whistle too. But hell, once you get above 1000 RPM you can't even hear it anymore

Sounds awesome up to that point though.

Did you get a chance to install that muffler yet?

Nope...I've been working on my Thunderbird the last couple weekends. I'm hoping to get to doing that before too long though.

Just heard my dad drive off in my truck, definitely getting a muffler now (he was in a bit of a hurry). I just hope I don't loose the turbo whistle, but as in your case, you can't hear it over 1500 RPM anyway.

Yeah that's the thing that sucks...

However, one NICE thing about mufflers is that they're generally designed to block out more lower frequency sounds. So what I'm hoping is that although I know the turbo whistle will quiet down somewhat, hopefully it'll stick around more than the exhaust noise. I guess we'll see.

Well, for those of you that were curious, I installed the muffler today...

I don't like it

Killed almost ALL of my turbo whine yet didn't even muffle the engine noises as much as I was expecting. blah.

Now I gotta figure out what I wanna do with it....

Well that sux. Could the distance from the engine affect the noise level? Seems too bad since the muffler would probably last the life of the truck.
