why does this thing keep breaking?!?!?!

why does this thing keep breaking?!?!?!
the bracket for the clutch and brake petal broke last week. i fixed it yesterday and it broke again today. what could cause this thing to break again? i'm thinking maybe the clutch master cylinder is creating too much pressure against it or something. thanks guys

could this be a result of the throwout bearing binding up? i have noticed the clutch has been getting a little stiffer than it used to be. that's the only conclusion i can come up with. can i put oil on it by taking the inspection cover off the tranny?

i think i figured it out. the hole in the bracket that the bolt goes through to hold the petals is oblonged. its not a perfect circle. that and the little metal, uhhhhh, "thingy" that goes into it falls out after a few times of pushing in the clutch. so since it falls out i get a lot of slop in the petal so when i push it in like normal it puts a lot of stress on the bracket. i'm getting a new bracket and petal assymbly this week, but so far i'm being extremely soft on the clutch and it hasn't broken again yet. hopefully this new bracket and petal assymbly will fix this thing!!
