Guys, I have been out at Cessna now for almost 20 years, and the future has NEVER looked brighter, many new planes, and a few more down the road yet to be announced from what management is saying. At any rate it seems like they just cant hire enough people.
My son got on as a sheet metal assembler last fall after going thru the sheet metal class at WATC, its a pretty good program that lasts about 6 weeks with a job fair at the end. Wichita Area Technical College
So just thought I would pass it along if anyone is looking for a decent paying job with good benefits even for kids right out of high school, something to think about. cessnajobs.com
And no I dont really have any pull with management regarding the hiring process, You can use my name on a reference if you want.. dont know if that would help or hurt.
Just throwing the info out there for anybody interested.
Told the wife I was going to quit my job on monday and move down there to start work, and I just might have, except if I did, Chad would not have to work for a living any more.. and I just can't have that on my shoulders....
Not looking for a job, just a nice 210 or better yet, a brand new Caravan. I've noticed that Cessna is doing very well while others struggle. Piper (turbine singles are doing well), Mooney (always unpredictable), and now sadly, Adam Aircraft (declared bankruptcy and was purchased by a Russian company). I was happy to see Cessna building their new Columbus jet in Wichita.
I got to fly in the Caravan a few months back, they use it to shuttle people to and from Independence, it was pretty cool. And yeah we are glad they decided to build the Columbus here too!

Oh thanks, if you do quit I am going to kick and scream to get manhattan! And wear a NE hat every day :-) You can't quit we need to go to cash recycle class.
I better pass Lynn might kick my butt if I started tweeking her *****.. And I am guessing I might get a brand new set of cement swimming shoes out of the deal..
Probly so, I tried it once and she kicked the crap outta me, and I'm her husband!! Maybe it had something to do with uttering "hello...tokyo...come in tokyo" lol
They don't need anyone with a bst in automotive technology do they? Since they are hiring what do they need? On a lighter note does cessna still have the part number for floats on the old 190/195's? The last I heard they were edo floats, but you could order them through cessna.
