01 Ranger 4X4 Transmission Problem
To Start off with I have a 01 Ranger 4X4 auto 130,000 miles had tranny flushed/ filter changes around every 30 to 40k miles, never any problems with
the transmission.
Problems started a couple weeks ago it would not go when put into drive or reverse unless revved high then it would move real slowly, although it moves fine when in manual 1st and 2nd. I figured I had a valve body gasket problem dropped the valve body discovered there was a blown gasket replaced and reinstalled, all seemed to go well. Valve body appeared clean no metal in the pan. However this did not fix the problem. I dont know if the range sensor or speed sensor would cause this type of problem or not. Did quite a bit of searching but was unable to find anything similar to my problem. I would like to try and fix it before I have to give up and take it to the Ford Dealership so they can tell me that I need a rebuild.
