I noticed my truck is running rough after warm up. I checked for codes. One code came up. High voltage at the egr. I pulled the vacuum line off and plugged it. Hooked uup a manual vacuum pump and brought it up to 15.
Engine ran rough to almost stall. Does this mean it is working ok?
If so what else should i look for. There has been a repair done on the exaust tube that goes up to the back of the engine. Could this have anything to do with it
The explanation of that code is " DPFE or EVP circuit above the closed limit of 0.67 volts". That's telling you the EGR position sensor is showing a voltage that is higher than it should be when the EGR valve should be closed(0 vacuum). So either the sensor is bad or more likely the valve isn't fully closing.... since the motor isn't running right either. I'd suggest removing the EGR valve and thoroughly cleaning it and retest.
The solenoid might be bad too. You can pull the ac line off the EGR valve and see if there is vacuum with the solenoid unplugged. There should be none to very little.
