Air filter

I have a buddy that just bought a '06 and he went to the local parts house and got a purolator filter. He says he cant get it to fit

I was just wondering if you 6.0 guys had anything like us 7.3 guys' 6637 filter mod?

The 6.0 filter flows enough air and lasts long enough that you don't need to worry about a 6637 type filter. It's kind of a PIA to change but it works.

Tell him to remove the metal clips before he tries to jam the filter in. It is a pain to find a clip that has dropped off into the abyss. The clips pop right back on.

Thanks. I hadnt even looked at it. He was just telling me about his problem and I figured I'd ask about the filter mods.

OEM provides the most air flow and protection one needs till you are pushing 500HP with the motor. Tell him to return the filter and be happy with the stock one.

Your best approach is to remove the the entire filter assembly from the flex section forward. Swap the filter, then reinstall. Much easier that trying the to swap the filter alone.
