What do you think?
I found a machinest that quoted me a price to stroke out a 351w with a complete port, polish and gasket match and estimates the price to be $1700-$2000 for all the work on a complete long block plus gasket match for intake. My first thought was that sounds cheap and thus makes me really hesitant to hand over my cash and motor. I asked as many questions as I could and or knew to ask and he sounds very competent with 15+ years experience. As I shop for other prices for the same work I'm quoted double for that kind of work.
So my question is should I just do it or is there anything else I should ask or Know before I go through with this?

Agreed.. I doubt he's doing what needs to be done for that money.
