changing to warn hubs

I am going to be changing out my original hubs to a set of Warn Hubs this weekend and was wondering if there is anything special that I should be careful of. This is the first time I have ever done this and dont want to mess it up. I did a search on this and it seems that it is pretty easy to do, but I am curoius about the screws.. One side wont give me any problems since the P.O. did work on this side but the other side I am going to have to drill out the heads.

Thanks in advance...

yes you need a spanner socket found at napa or autozone. you need the smaller sized one for Dana 44 and the bigger one for the Dana 50/60

it looks like this.

Well changed out the hubs this afternoon after work and the Drivers side went pretty easy once i figures out the snap rings.. the passenger side was beyond worn. it was stripped out and missing the pressure spring. I put it together without one for now because my local auto parts store didn't carry one but I will be stopping by an offroad shop nearby to see if they can get me one. I'll try to take pictures of everything when I take it apart again to fix what was missing.
Thanks for the advice..

The passenger side didnt have the spring and the snap ring on the axle was missing too. thats probably why it stripped it out.

The only reason that I put it back together was because I had to get it out of the garage before the wife got back from vacation....

I just bought a warn kit. It was like $70 for the whole lockout assembly the kit should of had all of the little chit needed including springs and snap rings.

the spring that was missing is the big one that goes between the hub and the bearing nuts. Everything else was in the kit. you bought the same one that I did..

Unless im confused about a design change for some reason. There should be no spring between the hub and the bearing nut. Just inside of the between the hub and lockout.

The large spring should be inside of the hub behind the outer gear shown in the pic.

My haynes manual called it a pressure spring, so thats what I called it. But it's the spring that goes in after you tighten the wheel bearings down and before you put the hub back on. Thats the one that was missing..

Hope it makes more sense on what was missing. But once again thanks for all the advice and knowledge.

i don't belive thats reused with the warn hubs...actually i know its not.....I belive that was a stock auto hub only thing....warn hub should have the splined unit, a clip ring around the axle stub, a round spring clip that goes into the hub to hold the splined unit in...and the outer cap....that has an odd looking spring in it....but its all one piece...
