Wheels for 2004 Supercrew
I think I already know the answer to part of this question, but here goes anyway. I am looking for a second set of wheels for my 2003 F-150 Supercrew XLT. It came with 17 inch wheels. The tires are 265-70-17.
Is it true that wheels from newer F-150s (2004+) will not fit this truck?
Also, are there any pitfalls involved in going with a set of 16 inch rims and tires instead. I am just looking for a second set so I can save these nice rims and be able to quickly and cheaply swap my tires from summer to winter. Oh, but I am not interested in putting some plain jane steel rims on, this truck is just too pretty for that.

No the 04+ wont fit.. they are 6 lug, while the 97-03s are 5x135mm. Personally id rather have 16s than 17s..tires and the wheels are cheaper, and easier to find.
If you want cheap rims.. either find some factory wheels(5x135mm pattern), or some companies make "cheap"($50-70) steel wheels that look pretty decent.
