adjustments for altitude

We live at 178 ft above sea level and are buying a 2002 Excursion with the 7.3 motor. It has the "edge w/attitude" programer and a 4" exhaust off the turbo. The vehicle has lived its entire life at aprox. 4000 ft. Anything we should plan on adjusting or doing to it to help it run it's best once it's down here? Any potential problems that we can anticipate and if so what can we do to take care of them right off so they don't become big problems. Is is going to run like crap until we get things straightened out and can we do adjustments thru the programmer (I don't expect we'll have any type of manual to the programmer).

There is no compensation needed for altitude with a forced induction engine (turbo diesel).

Wow, that's good to know. One less thing to wory about. 10 years ago I brought a '78 International Scout from 7000ft (Manitou Springs, CO) to maine and didn't it run like crap when we first got it here - but I realize a carburated motor is a different ballgame. This is my first diesel.

You should be able to download a manual on-line from Edge website:

Enjoy!!!
