Help

I have a 2006 6.0 with 90,000 miles. Yesterday it started to smoke with any amount of acceleration and the check engine light came on. I ran a diagnostic check with superchips tuner and was given a code of P-1335. I know that the 1300 codes are for ignition problems but my book does not list 1335. Does anyone know what this code references.

Thanks,
TWCracker

EGR position sensor minimum shop performance. Fault sets when the EGRP closed position exceeds the maximum limit at initial key on.

Pull the EGR and clean it.

Here's a step-by-step from Ford Doctors site: FDDTS - 6.0L EGR Valve Cleaning

go get it replaced. cleaning it will only solve the issue temporarily. cleaning never really helped, that why we dont do it anymore.

Help

Thanks everyone for the help. I purchased and replace the egr valve and all is well. $262.00 from the local dealer and about 5 minutes of time and I was back on the road.

There you go! Direct from a Certified 6.0 Technician.

BTH, how often, mileage wise, do you see these needing replacement? Is there any consistency in replacement miles or does it vary widely?

it varies widely. i have done some that last well over 100k, then i have had some only last 8k, throwing circuit codes left and right. then again, i just replaced one the other day, and it didnt even make it 1 mile before acting up.
