no reverse need help
I have a 1997 ford ranger 4 cyl auto transmission with 52,000 miles in it. truck runs perfect burns no oil. I was driving the truck to the store and all forward gears shifted perfect. upon going into the store and comming out I tried to use reverse and nothing happened.
The truck still runs great and shifts perfect in all forward gears.I checked the fluid level its perfect nice red tint and level is correct.
Any ideas would graetly be appreciated and was wondering if this was a common problem with this model.

trany troubles
Hi burninfordrubber,
If you don't get any hits here you may want to repost in the trany section:
Clutch,Transmission, Differential, Axle and Transfer Case - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
When I did a GM trany this problem was linked to the low & reverse band's inactivation and was caused by a sticking module...just an educated though.
