hey guys i wanna no what kind of clutch you guys think i should go with mine is starting to go! i dont want the highest dollar one but i want something good lol I want one with the flywheel also but the only one i can find is from southbend and they are expensive!!!! Well any advice would be great i dont need one this minute but with in the next few months i will
I recommend the LuK clutch kit. I have it installed in my dually. Contact Mr.Clutch on this forum and he will fix you up. Great service and easy to deal with.
I had thought I needed a clutch because I had to have the pedal completely down in order to shift, and was pricing clutches. But learned here that I simply needed to move the lever attached to the pedal and now it works great.
it shifts fine and i dont have to do any hard pressing to get it there either more like only a couple inches but it rattles real bad until i press the clutch in then it stops and i hear thats from the two peice flywheel i guess?
I've got a LUK Single Mass flywheel in mine, just went in recently. I don't like it, and I'm sorry we did it. The roll over noise/trans noise is annoying. It may never cause a problem, but why would Ford have put a more expensive and more complicated flywheel in there in the first place? If I was doing it again, I'd put in the DMF.
so what could all cause the clatter noise? and why does it go away when the clutch is pressed in? its starting to really bother me!! who much does the luk kit run and do i need the 12" kit?
My LuK has NO rollover noise with the single flywheel. (My 1999 6-speed growled terribly) You can get the dual-mass specific clutch kit or upgrade to the single-mass flywheel and clutch kit. Luckily mine was already converted to single-mass. Call Carolina Clutch and ask for Tom.
