Remake on the Explorer?

Hello all;
Generally I hang out over in the F-250 /350 areas, but my Girlfrend is starting to look at a new vehicle and is considering an explorer. I have heard a rumor that there will be a significant revision of the explorer in the near future. Does anybody have any info on this? We are not in a real rush for something so having to wait a little while is OK.

Thanks

Nothing--no info

Google "explorer redesign" and you'll see idle speculation about it becoming a crossover for example, amongst other clearly dated guesswork.

Do you like the current model? The field is flooded with this type of vehicle, so if you need this type vehicle, why wait? Sales are down, interest rates are still low. Buy one, improve the economy.

I am seriously looking into a current one. I am also a firm believer that the more "homework" the better on things like this. I would not want to buy one this summer and have a new model that I like better out 6 to 9 months later. Currently the Sport track is in the lead for choices. From the looks of the concept vehicles, I do not see an external bed avalable. That would mean acurrent generation would be the best choice.

I think the current Explorer is the best ever, I like the way it handles and the ride is very smooth.

Also, Ford is going to start a 3 year lifecycle on their cars and trucks.
Redesigns after three or so model years. So wondering if Ford will change the looks of a particular model after you buy your new truck will be a thing of the past. Why, because Ford will change the look after you buy your new auto.

I really like my 07 Explorer, just keep it maintained and you will have a great truck for many years to come.
