[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-Jun-02 AT 00:03 AM (EST)]forged pistons are overkill in a street vehicle. hypereutetic pistons are a good balance between cast and forged, as they are slightly stronger than cast but not as heavy as forged. cast pistons work great in a street truck too, (i've got a set, Speed Pro) and they're great. They're plenty strong, and they're nice and light, reducing rotating mass and making installation a bit easier
I now confused as to which pistons for my truck. Buying a 306 rebuild kit from summit and it comes with Keith Black hypertectic pistons. Some say hypertectic ain't worth it. For 40 extra can get forged TRW pistons. Is it worth it. Hit about same compression and truck is for daily driving, once and a while heavy towing and pulling. Thanks for advice.
hears a few links you should look at. for a daily driver the Hypereutectic pistons would be better then forged. make sure your machanist knows what pistons you are using as the hypereutectic pistons have a tighter clearence. good luck
