I have a 9" from an early '80s F150 I want to eventually put under my '84 (currently a 8.8 ). The nine inch currently is an open carrier with 2.75 gears in it. I want to change the gears to 3.50 & install a Trac-Loc. I now have both the gears & trac-loc. Both are used & seem to be in decent shape.
Is there anything in particular I should look for on the trac-loc assembly?
I don't have the bolts to hold the gear to the trac-loc assembly, do I need something special, or will regular grade-8 bolts work fine?
I do have a manual & access to tools, but I haven't worked on a rear end before & am open to recomdations/advice. Thanks.
Edwin
