[updated:LAST EDITED ON 27-Jun-02 AT 10:47 AM (EST)]Well I finally found a vacuum gauge and it read zero at idle and 14 at 1000 rpm and increased slightly up to 22 at 2500rpm were I stopped. So in that respect it is good. I also turned the vacuum canister screw little by little testing frequentily until it was all the way out and it made no difference with the pinging at 2000rpm up. So I checked around and it seems I need to add more fuel so I am going to step up the metering rods and see if that doesn't help I know someone on here mentioned that and I appreciate it not that I was doubting anyone just the engine in a worn state ran fine with the current carb so I figured that made no sense until someone mentioned maybe the engine is more efficient than previously, makes sense, so I will give that a shot and get back to everyone. Appreciate everyones time and input maybe this will help someone else someday
In a simple way of making sense of things would this make sense. It has been raining today and the humidity of course is 100 % and is it not true that this causes a carb to run a little richer than usual. If I am right then maybe I am on the right track because the rpm were the pinging begins was slightly higher today it has been 2000 and now it is 22-2300 so then the theory of more fuel would make sense then if all this is true correct?
