302 cam

It's pops again. Has anyone here had any experience running the ford replacement cam (i believe the part # is the A50) for the 351w in the 302? I don't have the specs handy but I got this with a bunch of other stuff that i bought at a garage sale (amazing what you find at these sometimes). In the PAW catalog that i have they claim it is a good step up for street torque and towing with good idle. Anyone out there running this cam?? thanks pops

You probably already know this, but just to make sure, you have to switch the distributor over to use the 351W firing order. Don't have it real handy, let me know if you need, I can look it up.

302 cam

I ran that cam in my Bronco with a 351W. I was really impressed. I drug a '64 Fairlane 3 hours down the interstate at 80 MPH in overdrive with it. LOTS of tug on the bottom end. It did seem to kind of run out of steam above 3500 RPM, though. It should be right at home in the 302 after you change the firing order, although you won't be doing anything stupid like running 15 MPH over the limit in overdrive with a 5000 lb trailer with it.
