Quick question about 1" spacer
I just put an Edelbrock 1" 4 hole phenolic spacer on my 86 F-250, 460 with dual plane Edelbrock intake and 750cfm carb. It runs like a raped ape! My question is, do I need the little adapter plate Edelbrock says you need to mate the carb to the intake or is it ok without it?
The reason I ask is because I tried to use it with the spacer, but the studs weren't long enough to allow it.
I hope it's ok without it, but please correct me if I'm wrong. As it sits now, it's: gasket, 1" 4 hole spacer, 4 hole gasket, carb. Before it was: gasket, open adapter plate, gasket, carb.
Please help because this will gnaw on my mind if I don't figure it out.
I don't know for sure about your situation but with a phenolic spacer you should be OK. If you don't have a vacuum leak I would run it, you won't over heat the carb that is for sure.
