hey guys,
i was just wondering if the injectors on my 93 F150 w/ the 5.0L EFI would have a spray pattern like on diesels? i know diesel injectors will lose power and the fuel mileage would decrease, just wondering if the same holds ture for these motors? also are there after market injectors i could put on my truck for more power? thanks for the help.
As far as aftermarket you pretty much just go bigger. I believe you have 19lb injectors and 24lb would be the next size up. Also you can get a high flow 19lb injector. No reason to change injectors unless you are putting power adders on that require more fuel flow. Also if you go bigger injectors you need to change your MAF sensor if equipped. I know that is getting close to the year those trucks went to MAF but I believe it was 94?

If the injectors are dirty or the EFI system has faulty sensors milage and performance will suffer.

Changing the injectors won't give you more power, and putting a larger size injectors will actually make the motor run much worse. The computer is programmed to add the right amount of fuel for the airflow through the motor, so if you want more power all you have to do is increase airflow through the motor, there is sufficient headroom with the stock injectors for quite a bit more power.

there's no such thing as a "high flow" 19 lb injector. If it flows 19 lbs per hour, it flows 19 lbs an hour (at rated pressure, of course). If it flows more than 19 lb/hr, the rated flow rate will be higher.
