Fuel System

They want $90. to clean out my fuel system. If I change my filter myself, and add some Injector cleaner, is that pretty much the same thing thier going to do? Also They showed me where I had some soot build up on my butterfly. is there something I can use to clean that area myself as well? thanks

As far as the butterfly (throttle body) be sure to use throttle body cleaner, usually a spray for cleaning that. There is a coating inside that you want to make sure you don't remove hence the use of the special cleaner.

Engine off, spray it around the butterfly and wipe gently with a soft rag holding the butterfly open as where the two surfaces meet when the throttle is closed is where the heaviest buildup seems to be. The cleaner specifically for the purpose will not not harm the coating.
