No such thing as a dumb question...except for the one you did not ask....I use simple green on a warm engine. If you use a high pressure hose be careful of all the electrical connectors....bag them if necessary. All I use is A little elbow grease, Simple Green and a garden hose with no sprayer. Blow dry at 60 MPH

i typicly use the foaming engin degreaser that comes in a can s small scrub brush in the bad spots and wrinse clean with a garden hose. follow the dirrections on the can you should be pretty happy with the results
