I have a tired 351 in the F-250 with 130k miles on it. I along with my dad put in a new mechanical oil pressure gauge because the gauge on the dash broke. We also changed the oil. When starting it, the pressure was around 40-50psi. Idle, around 25-28. Drove it, warmed it up, and the pressure droped at idle to the single digits, and while accerating it gets to about 20psi and drops when you take your foot off the gas. I don't think its the oil pump. I think its the crank, and all the worn out parts in there. I'm gonna change to a thicker oil but that won't help me in the winter time. I was wondering if there was an additive that will help me get the pressure up by helping to seal some of those wide spaces. Any suggestions would be appricated. We're not going to put a whole lot of money into this truck because we want to sell it and get a newer one.

If it's not low enough to make the lifters start ticking, don't worry about it. There is really nothing you can do except drive it till it quits. But you will probably be surprised how long that will take if the plugs are not getting fouled.
For the most part, it sounds decent. When I started it after the oil change one of the bearings wrapped for the first time. It makes the lifter clicking noise when you accelerate, and I bet the camshaft lobes are probably rounded off haha. It's had a really hard life, we've been nice to it but it's pushing around a 7000-7500lbs truck for 130k mi. It's at the point where the truck is starting to rust out, lots of rust bubbling all over the place. Many things don't work, it needs a paint job, the E-brake spring broke off in my hand when i touched it from rust. You can't shift it into 4L, but i think the linkage just needs to be lubricated. Thing hasn't been in 4L in probably 10 years. The 4WD gets used for about 100 ft every year total. The A/C needs to be recharged or converted. The seals are gone and needs to be recharged with R-12 every year. It's just a huge truck that we don't need anymore. Two years ago the rust was almost non-existant on the outside, but its bubbling all over the place now and it's just a big headache that needs to go. The only thing is who's going to buy it. If it had a rebuild on the engine, some paint, someone who wants to fix the minor things, and the rust taken care of it would be a decent truck. Great for working. The only thing is that we can't afford a new/newer truck right now so we have to live with this one for a while. The only thing it has going for it is that it is 4wd. Thanks for any comments anyone.
Does anyone know of an additive that is any good to help us get alittle more life out of it?
