Yes I have a 86' 5.8 H.O out of a econoline 150 that i am currently putting in my 79' Pickup. I know the 351 came out with Horsepower rating of around 210hp. I have put a aluminium Edelbrock 4V manifold on it with headers, performance coil. I have blocked off all of the EGR fittings and Emission fittings. I have a pretty good pile of vaccum hoses that were not needed and blocked off. THe motor looks pretty clean on the inside with the original factory paint on crank and valvetrain so i an assuming it is low mileage. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about how much power i have gotten. I have heard that i can get major power gains by swapping some better breathing heads but my budget is very low. I kept the original 4barrel Holly carb that came with it. It was in really good shape and i felt it would work ok for the time being. Also i am putting up with the original rearend that came on the truck that was equiped with the 300 straight 6. It has a C6 automatic with shift kit. Can anyone tell me how this set up would work. I am eventually going to the salvage yard and find a old 4x4 rear end and put under it for Posi track. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. Thank you
