in all honesty, and not just because they're a ford, i've yet to see a "riced" focus. lots of cavaliers, no doubt about it, slap the fart can on and you got a hot rod... the Focus tends to be a rich boys toy where it actually gets some real parts...
Isnt there a higher power Focus available from the factory? I can recall one of the guys at my dealership talking about getting one but, if I can recall, it was not available with an automatic. This guys wife did not want a standard.

Really? Ive seen them alot in edmonton and a few in saskatoon. The guys buy the cheap bumper kits for them, the cheap loud exhaust ad they have a hot rod.
Im not sure what you mean about the focus being a rich boys toy though, arent they one of the cheapest cars that ford produce?
As for a higher powered focus with an automatic, Im not too sure. Is the automatic still considered an upgrade option now a days? If it is, i would guess you should be able to order one.
If you would please excuse my rant, But it is adds & idiots like that will eventually f*@% us all. Years back in Stoon, I was president of a 4 wheel drive club & that same mentality ended up giving us a bad name. No one in the club was involved but the public & police were convinced every lifted 4X4 was driven by an *** & out to destroy land & property. Now look around @ all the lifted 4X4's driven by the younger generation, most with booming stereos, way more diesel power than they need, & super loud exhaust. It won't be long before ther is a SGI/Police campaign (not officially of course) to "inspect" these type of trucks. I for one would rather not be involved with a "target group" .Rick
Havent some of these trucks been under a bit of 'scrutiny' already? I have heard stories of mudflaps, headlight height, bumper height, tires sticking out past body lines, etc but without confirmation.
I have had a few mildly lifted trucks and had np problems but the handling of a high center of gravity (even multiplied if its not done right) with some of the really big lifts is a potential hazard, as is the impact a head on collision would have with a stock height vehicle.

well...ummm... yeah. for now they are the lowest on the north american ford food chain so thats their title by default... when we were sort of looking for an economy car the focus was a good 2-5g more than any other domestic/cheap economy car.
the ZX4-5 and so on had a little more power i believe, handling package and so on... there is also a rally art edition i think.
i also agree with you Saskr... there are too many jacked trucks that never see the shoulder of the highway even. far as i'm concerned, there should be a max that you can lift it for street use... it does pose certain dangers to other drivers in some cases when those trucks are way up there... as for noise, i'm a contributor, but i try to keep my foot off the hammer unless i'm riled...
There is the Focus ZX4 ST, Has a bigger engine that the other models 2.3l compared to a 2.0l. It only comes with a 5speed manual. I also don't know about the focus being a cheap car, I guess you could get just the bare bones for cheap, but I think our focus retailed out at $24,000. Mine you that is a lot cheaper than a lot of trucks and cars, but for a small car I don't think it's that cheap.
yeah thats what i thought... we priced out a 4 door sedan, regular package with auto, nothing special, and it came to 18g before taxes. similar cobalt, neon and a couple of the cheap imports were as i said 2-5g cheaper...
Ya!! We didn't pay $24g's for the car but after trading in Jen's old stang, I think it was $19g's with tax. That was for the ZX4 SES, 2.0l auto, has the 16" rims, traction control, heated seats and mirrors, that kind of stuff.
