Engine noise Opinions?

that description can have a dozen or more causes some bad some not so bad. exhaust leak, bad plug wires, the fan lightly touching the shroud somewhere, the TC not being tight in the flexplate (this is actually not uncommon when someone rebuilds an engine that doesn't do it alot. forgets to put the nuts on the tc or puts them on but not tighten them properly makes a lot of noise at idle but not much going down the road do to the pressure from the trans. then of coarse there is the loose rockers, bad bearings or wrist pins, piston slap, broken valve spring, slightly stuck valve staying up until the piston contacts it but not enough stuck to break it YET.
