I just came back and 30 minutes later I went to leave again and the Expy wont turn over just a load click from the firewall area behind the battery. Maybe the relay? The check engine light is on too.
I usually don't get any warning that my battery is going bad. Check and clean the connections. Take the battery to a parts store and they'll test it for you. If the battery is good, jump the starter relay and the starter should turn. If it doesn't, then you have a bad relay. But the "clicking" indicates that the relay is probably ok.
Since a jump didn't make a difference, it the battery.
Here's your choices:
1) Starter motor
2) Cable to starter motor
3) Once of the accessories driven by the serpentine belt has frozen. Remove serpentine belt and see if it cranks.
4) The engine is locked up.
I just went through this on my 97 F150. The A/C clutch bearing imploded and locked the clutch, keeping the whole engine from cranking. Removing the serpentine belt was key to diagnosing it.
Mine decided to quit one day without warning (it had the same symptoms as you describe). I had to have it replaced, then everything went back to normal. good luck
