That deck was only suppose to be temporary (my plan was to build a proper deck). But getting the box for as cheap as I did, just made way more sense.

It sure rides alot better with the box on it, than the deck too. Some of the wierd noises have disappeared too.

Thats great to hear. Are you gonna get a tailgate for it now too, or just use an air flow type gate? What about a bumper? PAP probably has a few of them

I'm thinking of building a gate out of 2x8's and then having my brother carve a blue oval in the center. Sand the whole thing down, and then use a clear varnish. Ford tail gates are the first things to disappear out of PaP, so I'm thinkin that a custom would be better

Oak is pretty darn expensive... Maybe some knotty pine, or see if I can find some aged barn wood... I would like it to look unique.

you have to use something with a close grain so the weather can't do as much damage to it. knotty pine would be way too soft, perhaps you could get some decent Fir out there...

I would like something that has already been weathered. Sun bleached barn wood, or old fence boards. I have a product in mind to keep Mother Nature from doing more damage. Nu Clear is an awesome wood protector.

yeah its not too bad. olympic used to make an awesome exterior wood finish as well but they've dropped it due to some environmental conflict...
