E40D to 5sp
Well, not sure what vehicle you have, engine, etc, so I'm gonna fire out a few blanks here. The E4OD is computer controlled, so you'll probably need a computer out of a 5-speed so that things work right after the swap. Next, you'll need to find a perty beefy 5 speed if this truck is anything more than a grocery getting 5 speed.
If it's just a putz around town truck, then you'll get away with a Mazda 5 speed tranny, but if it's anything more you'll need one of the heavy duty trannys that the HD trucks have, as well as the corect bell housing for your engine.
You'll need the pedal quadrant out of a manual tranny truck. You'll need to remove all of the column shifter stuff out of your truck, cut the hole in your cab for the stick shifter for the manual tranny. There should already be an outline for the shifter placement on the floor board.
You'll need all of the clutch master cylinder stuffs.
Oh, big one I just thought about. Depending on the transmission you buy and what engine etc, you may need to buy a different driveshaft because the lengths or yokes may be different between the auto's ds and the manual's ds.
Then you'll need the obvious things like correct clutch and pressure plate etc for the tranny and your truck's application.
This is all assuming your truck is 2 wheel drive. If it's 4 wheel drive, you may need a new transfer case or adapter.
That's all I can think of for now. I'm sure there's more.
Good luck, let us know what you're going to do.
